The Think Box..

Abhorring Dissonance, Seeking authenticity, Finding Congruence.

Found this excellent excerpt from an article by John Ortberg over at Christianity Today.com

Sin damages my capacity for God. Sin blinds. The danger is not that God won't respond to my repeated repentance; the danger is that I might become so ensnared that I become simply unable or unwilling to repent. This is the dynamic at work when Paul says, "And God gave them over to a depraved mind."
The greatest sin would be to stop wrestling!

@Simeone - Yes o... I couldn't shake the quote out of my head...

@Tigeress -- Yes o.. only God can help us keep a heart that is not desensitized to sin..

@Aloted -- True.. God help us...

So very true. But my question is how would it be a sin to stop wrestling?

Didn't know that before

"The greatest sin would be to stop wrestling." I love that phrase.

Just found out about the Think Box...woohoo!

@Rita -- Guess I should have added some context - The chap's point is that just folding up and giving in to sin rather than continuing to wrestle it is the source of living in sin...

@Rene.. LOL.... Same here I guess

@Jaycee -- LOL.. Thanks for stopping by.....

thanks for the quote. i know i struggle with sin constantly. Paul also admitted this at the end of Romans 7 when he said that in his mind he wants to do good, but also struggles with wanting to engage in sin. Yes, it is frustrating to live an imperfect life when we are called by the Father to be perfect. However, we should take comfort in the fact the that Holy Spirit still works in us when we find that we struggle with sin, rather than giving into a depraved mind.

Really Inspiring...Forgive my lateness, I was experiencing some difficulty commenting..The page was half..
